Name: Ivykit -> Ivypaw -> Ivyshadow
Age: Eleven moons
Rank: Apprentice
Allegiance: WindClan
Picture: N/A
Appearance:
Ivypaw is a tortoiseshell, with distinct patches of red and black swirling throughout her pelt. She is not brindled, as many appear to be; nay, she is almost more of a tri-color than a tortoiseshell, though the distinction may serve only to explain what her appearance is. Her paws and muzzle are white, as is her stomach and chest, and the tip of her tail. Ivypaw is quite pretty, really, with her three-cornered face and large amber eyes that always seem to be trusting. She is most decidedly not a calico - there is not quite enough white for that, but almost enough.
Ivypaw is of an average size, neither smaller nor larger than most cats. Or rather, being an apprentice, she is smaller, though this will eventually change as she grows older. Now, she is just about the right size for a cat in her age range.
Personality:
Full of energy, Ivypaw is very bouncy and easily excited. She's always eager to plunge headfirst into anything. “Look before you leap” is not a principle that she frequently practices. Ivypaw will do anything, as long as it keeps her moving. She cannot sit still for more than a few moments at a time. It's a struggle even to get her to sleep, because she always feels that if she does, she might miss something important.
However, once you have gotten Ivypaw to sit still, and if you have a good reason, she will listen with all of her attention. In fact, once you've gotten something through to her, she'll do it, no matter what happens, if she feels it is the right thing to do.
Ivypaw will do anything to protect those she loves. If that means throwing over her Clan, her principles, or anything else that gets in the way, then so be it. If you are one of Ivypaw's rare confidants, or someone who has proved yourself trustworthy – and tolerant of her ability to sit still – than you immediately come higher than even Ivypaw on her list of important things. And she keeps a list of important things. Her friends and family are first, then herself, then her Clan, then everything else.
History:
Ivypaw was born to two normal, average WindClan warriors of no consequence to anyone but themselves, named Hoarfrost and Hazelpelt. Shortly before her birth, her father vanished - nobody has ever been certain what happened to him. Shortly after she was weaned, her brother and sister died of some unknown malady that wasted them away in a matter of days. Her mother died not long afterwards, leaving Ivypaw to shift for herself. She has never really felt a true member of WindClan, but is loyal to them and to the warrior code anyway.
She became an apprentice and began to train as hard as she possibly could, doing everything to prove, both to herself and to her Clanmates, that she was as much a member of WindClan as anyone, even though she doesn't always believe it. Her first mentor was cold and distant, as though he disliked having to associate with her. When Ivypaw was eight months old, he was killed by a fox that almost killed Ivypaw as well. It was sheer luck – and perhaps some help from StarClan – that kept her from ending her short life then and there. But live she did, and received another mentor, a kinder one who took good care of her and trained her to the best of his ability.
